Fungus spore cloud – video

Happy Fungi Friday! 🍄

The most amazing thing, though maybe not for my lungs.

On Wednesday evening (9/7/25) I went for a walk at my closest woodland Narnia. It was evening, the sun was slanting through the trees. It was beautiful.

I approached a fallen beech tree that I have been passing for several years, which is now covered in brown bracket fungi – artist’s bracket.

I’ll let you watch the video to hear/see what happened next!

Ganoderma fungi have been approximated to produce billions of spores on something like an hourly basis.

There’s every chance I will now have bracket fungi sprouting from my arms and legs in the next few months.

Thanks for reading/watching.

That’s so cool. Lucky you to be in a spore cloud.

We are probably in them much of the time, it’s just they’re not always so nicely lit!
