Happy Fungi Friday!

I have barely been out this week due to my first cold/rhinovirus in nearly 4 years! I have been reading and thinking about fungi all week whilst cooped up at home.

It was nice to find these road verge field mushrooms whilst out on an evening walk around the town.

One key ID point for me with agaricus mushrooms is the square shape the caps take upon appearing.

There were a few more in the verge, one which was showing its gills having progressed further.

These gills do look slightly pink to me, which is indicative of field mushrooms in the genus agaricus.

Thanks for reading.
