About FF

Looking for fungi to photograph in the Sussex High Weald, October 2023

Welcome to my fungi photography blog!

On this blog I post my photos of fungi seen in the West Sussex area (focusing on Horsham District) as well as around London and southern England.

My favourite places to photograph fungi are the Weald of Sussex, the chalk grasslands of the North and South Downs, London’s parks and woodlands, and Dartmoor National Park in Devon.

My photos shared here vary from high-end mirrorless camera images to phone pics. You need an array of tools to tackle the incredible world of fungi.

I am not a qualified mycologist or ‘expert’, which I think is a tenuous term in this field. I just love finding mushrooms, photographing them, learning about fungi from others, and sharing the small amount of knowledge I have gained with others.

FungiFriday.co.uk gets its name from a once lively Twitter hashtag that I used to post to.

I created this blog in July 2023 as a new channel to share my own fungi enthusiasm. I have been posting about fungi on my personal website for a while now but I felt that the mushrooms deserved a new blogging substrate of their own to grow in.

Thanks for reading and happy #FungiFriday!

Daniel
