Fungi macro in the High Weald, September 2024

Happy Fungi Friday! 🍄

I really haven’t had enough time to photograph fungi with anything other my phone camera. But in late September I did manage to go for a walk in my local dreaming space, which happens to be in the lovely High Weald National Landscape. Here are some mirrorless camera and macro lens pics I captured and processed:

Sulphur tuft in September is at its best in photographic terms, before all the rain. The lovely green background is because the trees still have plenty of leaves on them.

My first yellow stagshorn of 2024.

One of those little bonnets or parachutes coming through the leaf litter.

My first amethyst deceivers of the season. Disclaimer: they don’t always look this colourful in person and definitely not at first sighting because they can be quite shaded.

This lovely russula was growing among the moss and litter, as you can see.

Glistening inkcaps, doing just that, also a bit slimey.

I’m not sure what this little polypore is but it was nice.

Is this an oyster? Probably. Something has taken a bite out of it! 😬

Probably turkey tail but I’m not completely sure.

Thanks for reading.
