On the slithers of car park verge near where I work an interesting bolete has been present for a couple of weeks.

I put a photo on iNaturalist and one user asked for a pic of the underside to help ID. I posted the above and it was confirmed as deceiving bolete.

These boletes are really interesting and varied, though my understanding of them is very minimal. I hope to see some when out with more than my phone camera.

A week or so later the bolete was still in place but moving to decay. They are very stinky when they get to this point.

Nearby another had popped up, if it is the same species!
