Fungi Friday 🍄

Happy #FungiFriday. An infuriating week for southern English funga, if you want to take things that far. It’s been above 30 degrees for most of the last 10 days with no proper rain.

The only photo I have is this Ganoderma bracket, taken in West Sussex on my phone. Unlike the artist’s bracket I posted about earlier this week, I think this sprawling mass is a southern bracket (Ganoderma australe).

It’s growing on a tree stump, and probably several years old. That kind of tough fruiting body doesn’t grow overnight.
