New Forest National Park, Hampshire, August 2023
August really does seem the month for edible fungi. I don’t manage to see chanterelles often so it’s always nice to find them. I’ve only ever found them in August.

These were very small and seemed to have been nibbled already. As with recent posts, this one had broken loose from its mossy home.

From above they looked a bit like hedgehog fungi, and I hadn’t seen chanterelles as small as these before.
Thanks for reading.
